Teacup Productions, founded in 2008 as an English drama club in Hong Kong by Alok Jain and Priyanka Jain, was formalized as a limited company in 2015. The company’s objectives evolved to focus on creating purposeful performances, integrating education with performing arts, and embracing cultural diversity in Hong Kong.
In 2016, we transitioned to a not-for-profit entity, expanding its collaborations with local NGOs and educational institutes. The company’s initiatives included children’s drama workshops, career skills training, and community radio show production. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Teacup adapted its programmes to the digital landscape and continued its community initiatives and education programmes.
In 2023, Teacup Productions attained charity status in Hong Kong, paving the way for future projects, including language education for local children, theatre productions, and drama workshops for children with special needs. Throughout its journey, and in its endeavour, Teacup has received support and encouragement from the Standing Committee for Language Education and Research (SCOLAR), EDB, the Consulate General of India in Hong Kong, the Late Mr. Rusy M. Shroff and Mrs. Purviz R. Shroff, Caravel Group, the Chellaram Foundation, and Trans-Consult Limited.
